Boil Water Notice lifted by United Utilities across Tameside and Saddleworth

WATER IS now back to normal for 17,000 homes across Tameside and Saddleworth after a boil water notice was lifted, United Utilities have confirmed.

The utility company issued a warning on Sunday, December 11 after a technical fault in their equipment at Buckton Castle led to some water not being treated to the usual high standard.

Customers were advised to boil water for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth until further notice.

On Tuesday, December 13, United Utilities published an update on their website confirming the notice had been lifted for all areas of Tameside and Saddleworth.

The statement read: “This is an important update for customers: please note the water coming from your tap is now back to normal.

“This means that you no longer need to boil your water before using it for drinking, food preparation or brushing teeth – you can use it normally.”
