IF YOU like your music a little off the beaten track, then The Vale Arts Centre in Micklehurst can usually provide a break from the norm.
And with their first live concert of 2017, Vale promoters look set to deliver another eclectic mix of sounds for your delectation.
So, what can you expect on Saturday, April 29? It’s said Skutch Manos deliver acoustic instrumental music described as “Rodrigo Y Gabriela (a Mexican acoustic guitar duo) covering Led Zeppelin.”
If that’s grabbed your attention then the group are further said to: offer a programme of well-embellished compositions, which are melodic, pounding, playful, well journeyed and metamorphic, never resting, and always ready with a surprise.”
With a second album released in the Spring and a tour starting on March 30, then it promises to be a big year for Skutch Manos whose Festival appearances last year took them to Kendal Calling, the Acoustic Festival of Britain and the Manchester Jazz Festival.
The Vale performance features ‘string fellows’ Kathleen Ord and Aimée Suzanne Johnson plus three Skutch Manos amigos Arlen Connelly (guitar), Holly Prest (percussion), and Chris Cliff (bass).
The space at the former mill off Micklehurst Road offers a unique viewing experience with tables, seats and standing/dancing space for the audience.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the band will play two sets. Tickets cost £12.50 for a seat at a table and £9.50 for a standing ticket.
To book a table in advance email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01457 238089. Tables will be offered on a first reserve first serve basis.
