Mossley 10k aims for record entries in second year

ENTRIES ARE open for the Mossley 10k on Sunday, July 16 at 10am.

And the football club, that organises the event, is hoping for a record entry.

In its three years so far, the entry has grown from 120 to 313.

Lilywhites’ secretary Harry Hulmes, the race director, the person who devised the event to raise revenue for the football club.

He said: “We have grown each year and this year it would be nice if we could attract 400 entries.

“And the 10k was the catalyst for the formation of Mossley AFC Running Club.”

Harry says the feedback he has received in the last three years has been positive.

He added: “We try to improve each year and have introduced live timing on the internet.

“This year we will be sending out results by text as we try to be innovative.”

The 10k course is described as both “challenging and scenic”.

Organisers need more volunteers to help on race day.
