STAYLEY CRICKET Club offers a flag of friendship to their overseas players.
They make a point of flying the flag of the country of the professional, last summer that being Pakistan for Hamza Nadeem.
But they also display flags in front of the pavilion for the nations of other overseas players at the Oxford Street club.
Club President Martin Harvey explained: “It is something we started about three years to help make our overseas players feel welcome.
“We have three flag poles so we fly the club badge, St George Cross and the flag of the nation of our professional.
“We also have a couple of Welsh lads and players who originate from Barbados and Trinidad so we put their flags on the fence in front of the pavilion on matchdays.”
Martin added they have amassed a collection of eight flags and will be probably be adding another this summer as they have lined up an Australian overseas player.
