Models will be taking to the catwalk to parade the finest vintage and preloved fashion at an upcoming evening event at homelessness charity Emmaus Mossley.
The ‘Vintage & Preloved Clothing Sale’ will take place on Thursday 25 May at Emmaus Mossley’s base at Longlands Mill in Mossley.
With Brit’s throwing away seven tonnes of clothes every 10 minutes, the charity is keen to showcase the quality of preloved items available in their Secondhand Superstore.
The event will include a catwalk parade of their finest fashions, rails of vintage and retro clothing, new items with tags still present and a selection of bridal and wedding outfits.
The sale will also include shoes, handbags, accessories and a selection of vintage jewellery from the Emmaus Mossley Collectables Room.
Hazel Hodkinson, Retail Manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: “We’ll have an eclectic mix of designer labels and vintage retro fashion, with items to suit all shapes and sizes.
“If you’re looking for a vintage summer dress, clothes for a party or a fancy dress outfit, be sure to come on down and see what bargains you can find.”
Emmaus Mossley supports 26 companions (formerly homeless people) by providing them with a home and work in a community setting.
The charity runs a social enterprise in Mossley, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods, clothes, bric-a-brac and vintage wares. All of the money raised from the clothing sale will go towards supporting people at the charity.
Maher Edwards, companion at Emmaus Mossley, said: “The fashion event is now only about showing our best clothes – it’s also about the work of companions and volunteers to show what Emmaus Mossley is all about.”
The ‘Vintage & Preloved Clothing Sale’ will take place on Thursday 25 May from 7-9pm, at Emmaus Mossley, Longlands Mill, Queen Street, Mossley OL5 9AH. To find out more or support Emmaus Mossley go online: www.emmaus.org.uk/mossley
