Read all about it as Mossley Correspondent launches two new titles

YOU can read all about it more than ever as the Mossley Correspondent now has more sister titles.

The Saddleworth Independent, run by Editor in Chief Aimee Belmore, was the first newspaper in the group launched in 2010 by Ken Bennett.

Since then it has become a popular and important source of news, views, lifestyle, business, sport and more to 25,000 readers.

In 2016, the Mossley Correspondent was launched in the neighbouring town, under the eye of editor Trevor Baxter.

Then, the Stalybridge Correspondent was launched this September and the Shaw and Crompton Correspondent will launch in October.

And with a growing business, we have welcomed new members of the team on board to work across the four newspapers.

Aimee Belmore, Editor in Chief, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to launch two more papers and bring local news to even more communities.

“At a time when local papers up and down the country are struggling, it’s a great validation of our local journalism that we are growing month by month.

“We feel proud and incredibly privileged to bring you interesting and up-to-date news and stories, to celebrate our local area and to hold those in power to account.”

We continue to operate all four newspapers through our company Local Communications Limited, which Aimee founded in 2013.

  1. Greetings from Japan!
My name is Rhys Wedlock. I’m from Greenfield but I’ve been living in Japan for 22 years. I joined a post-punk band in Japan called “Slow Wolves Club” as bassist, and we’ve just recorded and are about to release our first album. I sing one song on the album, the title of which is “Dog Fouling Prohibited (in Mossley)”! There’s a video of me singing it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz8BdjiIoas
If you’re at all interested in this story, please let me know and I’ll go into whatever details you’d like.
    Thank you for your time!
    Yours faithfully,
