HOLLYWOOD HEART-THROB Tom Cruise is in town next month and there’s an open invitation for Mossley residents to come and see him.
Okay, there is a catch… You won’t exactly be treated to a meet and greet and Tom won’t actually be here in the flesh.
But the American actor will be pretty life sized given the circumstances of his public appearance.
As part of their ‘Cinema Under the Stars’ programme, Mossley Basecamp – a community based organisation aimed at providing activities for young people – is organising an outdoor screening of ‘Top Gun’, arguably Cruise’s most famous screen role, in the grounds of Mossley Town Hall off Stamford Road on Saturday, May 7.
After expenses, all proceeds will be donated to Friends of Mossley Park as part of their fund raising for a new toilet block. Places are limited and tickets cost £12, with the screening expected to start around 8.30pm.
Cinema goers can bring their own food and drink.
