CUSTOMERS at new Micklehurst takeaway TasTebuds can also view the work of proprietor Lee Lambert while they wait to be served.
The 41-year-old, who used to live in Top Mossley, was a tiler by trade and he has done much of the work refurbishing the premises on Mansfield Road, a former Italian takeaway.
Lee and partner Stephanie Perrin, 32, who live in Micklehurst, have invested a considerable amount of money and time into their venture since acquiring the unit in June.
Lee explained why he has had a change of career: “It came about from my love of eating, especially pizza and burgers which are my favourite foods.
“I have been making my own pizza at home for years and have been doing a lot of research into perfecting it for the business.”
Lee said the dough is mixed in-house while meat is sourced from local butcher Andy Taylor and other ingredients from the area wherever possible.
Lee and Stephanie are assisted by chef Ash Ali and they can also call upon several other helpers when needed.
And the takeaway has been given the local authority seal of approval as Mayor of Mossley Cllr Chris Lyness and next year’s Mayor Cllr Irene Raddings performed the official opening.
