MOSSLEY remain on the FA Cup trail after a brilliant win at Clitheroe put them into the second qualifying round.
The Lilywhites have already banked £6,000 for winning the tie at the Lancashire outfit.
Now they await the draw to find out who they will have to beat to go two matches from the first round proper.
Max Leonard put Mossley in the lead early on before they were pegged back, only for substitute Ben Halfacre to take centre stage.
He replaced Mike Fish, who left after 35 minutes with a torn ligament in his shoulder but as he put it, ‘Hearing the boys got us to the next round of the FA Cup makes it a whole lot better.’
Halfacre’s heroics saw him pounce after Liam Ellis’ goal was cancelled out, only to round off the game in injury time with his second.
Leonard also scored twice in front of 356 fans at the Evo-Stik League West Division outfit.
It meant a very loud coachload of players and fans made its way back to Seel Park, with chanting clearly heard as it wound its way along the roads.
Mossley could now face former Football League clubs Stockport County or York City as Vanarama North clubs enter the competition at the next stage, the draw for which is on Monday at 1pm.
Should Mossley come through, it would mean a further £9,000 into the coffers.
