EVER After Flooring is a local success story proving businesses can flourish in times of austerity.
The Mossley business, based at Unit 7/9 New Scout Mill, Manchester Road, has enjoyed phenomenal growth in the two-and-a-half-years since it was formed by husband-and-wife Lee and Jodie Marsh.
Initially Lee, who used to work in aircraft design, and Jodie employed two fitters – a far cry to the present day when there are 14 full-time staff and a couple more part time.
“It was all new to us and we didn’t know what to expect,” admitted Jodie who had previously worked in accounts, credit control and as a hairdresser.
“We didn’t think the business would grow as fast as it has done,”
Ever After Flooring caters for every conceivable floor covering, from carpets and vinyls to laminates and engineered wood.
They are the only business in the area accredited for Moduleo luxury vinyl tiles that are proving increasingly popular.
The showroom and warehouse stocks 38 rolls and more than 400 roll ends, the latter representing excellent value for money.
Jodie said: “A lot of people have worked out that, despite constant sales of up to 70 per-cent at some businesses, their floorings are still more expensive than ours.
“Here you get a good deal and we have found people still like to shop local and have a personal service that we can offer.”
Ever After Flooring, that have three vans on the road, have both domestic and commercial customers, both locally and from further afield.
Lee says they have done considerable work in pubs, bars and restaurants in Uppermill and do jobs of all sizes.
They have varied from a £26,500 project for floor coverings at a company’s offices in Warrington and £3,500 for a stairs carpet at a large farmhouse to carpeting vans, motor homes and sheds that have been transformed into man caves.
