MOSSLEY Football Club has been selected as a cause for the Co-op Local Community Fund.
The fund helps to support local projects that Co-op members care about. Since its launch in 2017, they have raised £39million for more than 12,000 local causes.
“We’re delighted we can now access this funding opportunity to deliver better facilities for the people of Mossley,” explained Mossley committee member Matthew Hayton.
How the fund works:
Every time members shop at the Co-op, one per-cent of what they spend on Co-op branded products and services helps fund community projects. Members can shop at any Co-op group stores across the UK to raise money for Mossley AFC.
How to join:
You can become a member or sign-in online at: www.coop.co.uk/membership
Alternatively, you can join in-store. Membership costs £1.
Members can choose to support Mossley AFC by signing into their membership account or by calling the membership helpline on 0800 023 4708. Mossley AFC will be available for members to select until November 2019.

The club urges fans to help spread the word and promote our involvement in the fund – together we can make a real difference.
Mossley have thanked Mossley Co-op manager Nathan Harris, a Lilywhites’ fan, who has championed the football club as a worthy cause.
The football club is also looking to raise funds for ground improvements through the Mossley AFC Community Fund that was launched earlier this year.
In a statement, the club said: “Mossley AFC plays a vital role at the heart of our community and we now need your support please.
“Did you know we offer the facilities of Seel Park for the whole town to enjoy?
“Each week we run Monday Club for adults with disabilities and on Wednesday’s The Club for local teenagers. Local community groups are able to hire our function room free of charge and we’re also the home of Mossley AFC Running Club and the base for the annual Mossley 10k race.
“To ensure we continue to offer everyone the best experience possible, we need to upgrade some aspects of Seel Park. We’ve worked tirelessly to secure funding, including being finalists in The Buildbase bursary competition at Wembley in 2017.
“To achieve our ambitions, we’re now looking for people from our local community and beyond to come together to help support us, allowing us to continue to be a focal point of our town.”
The club has set itself targets of £2,000, £10,000 and £18,000 for three phrases of ground improvements which include resurfacing the driveway and upgrading the home changing rooms and roof to meet league regulations. The current total raised is £4,000.
Whether you support the football club, care about the town of Mossley or are passionate about helping the groups who use our facilities, the Lilywhites need your help.
