BREAST cancer sufferer Jayne Baalham was determined to help others living with the disease.
Jayne, who lives in Mossley, held a fundraising event at the Hare and Hounds on Luzley Road.
And the night raised a remarkable £3,200, including an anonymous donation of £1,000 and £1,000 from online donations, for the cancer charity Maggie’s Centres, a series of drop in centres that help anyone affected by charity.
Jayne, who had her head shaved during the evening, was head waitress at the Hare and Hounds and is a close friend of licensee Geraldine Duffy.
She opened a live page on Facebook for donations.
And those attending on the night brought along food for a buffet for which they made a donation.
There was also a raffle while entertainment was provided free of charge by singer LA John.
A separate raffle was held for an Easter basket.
