Cheque this out! Mayor of Mossley’s bumper handout benefits community groups and clubs

A TOTAL of 34 groups benefited from the year-long fundraising activities of Mayor of Mossley Cllr Irene Raddings and her committee.

Many of those organisations and individuals attended a presentation afternoon at Mountain Street club, top Mossley to receive their contributions.

Oldham Mountain Rescue Team and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service each received £1,091 from the final total of £9,482.60.

The rest collected amounts between £100 to £300.

They were: Baby’s football (Mossley Juniors), Friends of Egmont Street, Micklehurst CC (juniors), Funky Fitness, MAODS, MERA bingo, MERA Muddy Buddies, Friends of Mossley Park, Mossley Town Team, Town Twinning, Second Mossley Rainbows, Brownies and Cubs, Monday Club Lifeline, Whit Friday Band Contest, Childflight, Fairshare (Mossley Community Centre), Civic Society, Mossley Methodist Church, Mossley Band, Mossley Community Centre, Mossley Drummers, Mossley School of Dance, Mountain Street Children’s Christmas Party, St George’s Church Mother’s Union, St John’s Band, St John’s Breakfast Club, Time of Your Life, Good Vibrations, St George’s Church Community Fund, Traditional Whit Friday committee, Tuesday Luncheon Club, MAFE, Yorkshire Ward Children’s Christmas Party.

Between 2015 and 2019, the Mayor’s committee has raised more than £40,000 for Mossley community groups.
