Copley Academy head steps down

THE headteacher of a Stalybridge school who was replaced suddenly has stepped down.

Sarah Gregory, principal at Copley Academy on Huddersfield Road, was described as being ‘unavoidably absent’ when she was first away from her position.

But now a letter has confirmed she has ‘taken the decision to move on to new challenges.’

Kenwyn Paddy, from the Rodillian Trust in West Yorkshire, is now acting headteacher, with Danielle Williams his assistant.
