EMMAUS Mossley (EM) invites supporters to a vintage Christmas market charity sale at their Longlands Mill secondhand superstore taking place on Saturday, November 16.
The market will launch the homelessness charity’s Christmas display and include a range of festive stalls for all tastes and budgets.
There will be a wide selection of vintage and retro decorations, secret Santa gifts, presents for under a fiver and lots of reusable Christmas trees.
EM community member Gary Barton said: “Our Christmas events are always great fun.
“I really enjoy seeing supporters, fellow companions, volunteers and staff getting in the festive spirit.
“There will be lots on offer for all ages throughout the day including a special visit from Santa.”
EM supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting.
The charity runs a social enterprise in Mossley, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods, clothes and vintage wares.
All proceeds from the market will support the people who live and work at Emmaus. In addition to the Christmas-themed stalls, the collectables room will be open and Santa will be visiting Emmaus’ secondhand superstore.
Lucie’s Café will be serving seasonal food and drinks throughout the day, and there will be a few limited external stall holders too.
Hazel Hodkinson, EM retail manager, said: “Christmas-time can create a lot of waste and consumption but at Emmaus we are keen to promote reuse and celebrate second-hand.
“This event is the perfect opportunity to source a wide variety of pre-loved decorations, affordable gifts, festive fare and materials for those who enjoy creating handmade gifts.
We hope lots of people will join us on the day to have fun, bag some bargains and support give their support to Emmaus Mossley.”
The market will be open from 9am to 4.30pm at the Queen Street venue while EM will also have a Christmas pop-up shop at the Weavers Factory, Uppermill, on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8.
