COMMUNITY members from Emmaus Mossley have teamed up to take part in revealing poses in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
The charity calendar, costing just £5, features a host of Emmaus residents and staff in various locations throughout the second-hand superstore and community building at Longlands Mill.
The calendar aims to raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer UK and promote positive body image amongst males.
Paul Barnes is one of the people who lives and works at the homelessness charity and features as ‘Mr February’.
He said: “The calendar is a bit of fun and all for a good cause.
“It is great to be able to support another charity that is close to men’s hearts.”
Prostate Cancer UK is the UK’s largest men’s health charity campaigning and offering support to help more men survive prostate cancer, fund research into causes and treatments, raises the profile of the disease and works to improve care.
Harry Barlow, Emmaus Mossley, community leader, said: “I was delighted to be involved after the idea was first raised among our community.
“As well as supporting a worthy cause, the calendar also promotes positive body image and has benefitted the individuals featured by improving their confidence.”
Emmaus Mossley supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting.
The concept of solidarity, getting involved in volunteering and helping groups in need, is a central ethos of Emmaus and a motivation for those who took part in the calendar project.
The calendar is now available from Emmaus Mossley’s second-hand superstore on Queen Street with all proceeds raised will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK.
