Micklehurst victorious in street dance competition

MICKLEHURST All Saints CE Primary School celebrated victory in the annual Tameside Street Dance Competition which took place on December 11.The fiercely contested event, which was held at Active Copley, Stalybridge, brought together schools from all over Tameside to compete with Micklehurst a regular contender each year.

The children were determined to triumph, putting in extra hours wherever they could to practise their routines, with the older youngsters co-ordinating rehearsals.

The win was a huge feather in the caps of the students who even sacrificed their lunch breaks to practise.

Amanda Hamlett, year three teacher and PE co-ordinator, said: “We have been competing in this competition for a number of years and the quality is always exceptionally high.

“To have won the competition this year is absolutely amazing, and the children are thrilled that all their hard work and dedication has paid off.”
