American legends come to Mossley

AMERICAN Legends is Mossley Community Centre’s next big fundraiser at the George Lawton Hall on Friday, March 20, starting at 7.30pm.

It will feature the music of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond and Eagles tribute band The Falcons.

The event is part of a full programme of fundraisers organised by the volunteers on the committee that runs the community centre which operates in a Tameside Council building built in 1865.

They say, as an organisation, they have worked tirelessly to maintain and improve the interior of the building, which they lease, for the benefit of the community.

They have long-term plans to develop the existing amenities with help from funding streams, grants, donations and fundraising events like the American Legends.

The committee said the support of the local community at these events is vital for the continued growth of the centre.

In a statement, they said: “We rely heavily on volunteers and welcome any offer of help from individuals and local businesses in the running and management of Mossley Community Centre and its associated events.”

They have rooms to hire for private parties, events and regular activity sessions and can be contacted by email at or Angie Taylor on 01457 832361 for further information.
