A POPULAR hair stylist really is a cut above the rest after opening up his third salon.
‘Milano’, owned by Tom Nazary, 38, now boasts trendy shops on Mossley Road in Ashton, Top Mossley and Bottom Mossley to cater for all gents’ styling needs.
And after only starting the business in 2012 and opening his two latest shops in the last six months, Tom is delighted with the popularity and progress he has made.
It was a bold move for the ambitious stylist, who trained in his homeland of Turkey before moving to the UK and managing an Italian barbers in the city centre for ten years.
Then, in 2011 he won a prestigious competition with American Crew and had his model displayed in their gallery for a year – sparking his ambitions to open his own business.
“I chose the spot in Ashton first as it’s on a main road so a good place to attract in customers and it took off really well,” explained Tom, who has level 3 barbering qualifications.
“It was easy to use what I had learned about hair over so many years. For young people we offer modern, stylish cuts while middle age men prefer crew cuts.
“We can give advice on styles and can do anything – short or long hair, highlights, patterns, or whatever the customer wants. We also do Turkish style cuts, shaves and waxing.”
With business booming, Tom decided in December 2015 to open his second salon on Manchester Road in Bottom Mossley, followed this July by one on Stamford Street in Top Mossley.
All three shops have a sleek black and white design, comfortable waiting areas and offer tea, coffee and cold drinks.
And Tom employs a team of ten, including himself and his fiancée Slywia Wojtysiak, across the busy shops to keep their doors open seven days a week.
“Bottom Mossley is another good, central spot and then Top Mossley came up in a nice spot and it’s easy for parking so I thought it was a good opportunity,” he said.
“It’s been very quick and keeps me busy – but that’s enough shops for now!” he added.
Milano salons are open Monday-Friday from 9am-7pm, Saturday from 8am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-5pm. No need to book in advance.
